OUR DEFINITIVE GUIDE
Over the years you have joined us at least once on this journey ‘the most beautiful Marathon in the world.‘
For many of us this has proven to be a huge challenge but has brought with it a life changing experience.
Whether it’s because you did something you never though you could, shown you can do anything you put your mind to, or proven it’s something you never want to do again, You have done it.
Reducing many of us to tears, bringing many of us to our knees, it has united us us all on this page.
Many made life changing decisions because of this run, a change in career or a change to our lifestyles. A few decided to going until we can’t.
THE BAROMETER
We nicknamed it the barometer. For all the ups and downs a year may bring, for all the times we think we not doing enough or doing too much this is the test since the mountain doesn’t care, the mountain doesn’t change* we do, and it’s become a great way to see where you’re at.
Remember. You dont stop running because you get old, you get old because you stop running.
OUR TIMELINE OF YOU
Below is our best current record of you and your results. If you know different let me know and I’ll right the wrongs. Download the Full History here or scroll though and find your name.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
To end with the beginning let’s remember how this all began.
After Rich’s Mum passed away his Dad (Roy) said let’s go on holiday to Switzerland again.
As Richie strolled out of his hotel, he saw an elite runner called Jonathan Wyatt flying past. Roy turned and said “Heh Richie, you can do that.”
The following year five of us set off to run (hobble) what, for some of us, was our first ever Marathon.
The following years are history.
Sadly, the man who set that ripple in motion, the man responsible for everything you just scrolled through passed away this year. We think of Roy and the joy that comment has brought every time we go…
WHERE WE GO FROM HERE
Steve McCormick will be 60 Years old and intends to run again in 2024.
In 2028 Rich G will hit his 20x Finisher. In 2029 Richie S will do the same.
So there you go, maybe enough’s enough, or perhaps you’ll come and join us on the start line. It’s never too late to dust off the runners and get some cowbell action you know you’ve been missing. And we ain’t getting any younger.
