MILES-MOORE CERAMICS – EN-RICHED EXPERIENCE
Pleased to announce that 16 – 04 – 21 is the launch of a passion project I have been working on in collaboration with award-winning ceramic artists Martin and Siobhan Miles-Moore.
The En-riched Studio Experience
The En-riched Studio Experience endeavours to not only capture their work but the essence of the artists themselves, their inspirations, their processes, and their relationship with other creatives.
Martin and Siobhan’s desire to broaden the way their art is expressed, was like fireworks in a digital creative’s mind. What stood out was the integrity of their work, provenance of materials and sustainable values. All-important traits that could enrich peoples understanding of traditional skills, use of resources and ultimately, the value we attach to objects. Something worth protecting for future generations.
The intention was to explore if this could be done in an empathic way.
Can a digital space engage emotionally?
To achieve this required an acute understanding of the brand ethos and a respect for the traditional skills of the artists. The result is an intriguing synergy between cutting edge technologies born millennia apart, one working in clay, the other in pixels.
THE DAILY TEASE
One of the great parts of the project was creating a daily teaser film for social media channels. There have been 2 weeks of sneaky peeks, abstract at the start of the show and tell and more revealing towards the launch.
The teasers have captured the essence of what to expect and given me a daily challenge of how to interpret what the space has to offer in a series of 15 second films.
BEYOND THE TEASERS, WHAT WILL YOU SEE?
Visitors from anywhere in the world can walk through the pages of a book, watch a film, buy art, speak to the artists and climb a mountain, all without leaving home. Importance was placed on human engagement and to offer a sense of digital wellness. An online escape as well as being a place to buy art.
The tools for the build? There’s no silver bullet, Modo for modelling, Unreal Engine for rendering and animation, 3D Vista for tour and Adobe for added shazam. The application of digital patina, sympathetic lighting, attention to materials and surface textures all work to create an engaging ambience.
Feedback so far used terms like ‘inviting, seductive, sublime” They went on to say “I could spend hours in there, it’s personal”.
Would be great if you followed the link, experienced the experience and let us know your thoughts.
